Beaded Jump Rope

A beaded jump rope is the workout tool you need in your gym bag. Portable, small and one of the best workouts anywhere you go. Why beaded? A lot of rope choice is based on your personal preference, but here are some reasons for a beaded rope over a speed jump rope:

• Heavier. They are great for workouts or for a warm-up rope.
• Visibility. Beaded ropes are naturally more visible due to their bigger size.
• Durability. If used the same, a beaded rope will outlast a speed rope. In fact, we have a few beaded ropes still in use after 10 years with only a few beads ever having been replaced.
• Personality. Beaded ropes offer many more choices for colors and pattern designs. They are much easier to personalize to fit your style.

If you’ve ever had a problem with shattering beads, it’s probably because the bead type was very hard and brittle. Our 3/4″ beads are softer which dramatically reduces the possibility of shattering and wears longer. We also add a washer between the handle and knot. This is an often overlooked (and very simple) step that helps keep your rope from kinking up. We’re looking out for you.

The first thing you need to do is determine your size. Normally we suggest standing on the middle of your rope and pulling the handles up beside you. They should come up to just below your shoulders. With a beaded rope, we have come to the conclusion that slightly shorter is actually better. Lop another inch off your size and that should do it. Sizing is definitely a personal choice, but you don’t want a rope that’s either too long or too short as it will limit what you are able to do. A rough sizing guideline would be as follows:

• Under 5′ => 7 Foot
• 5’1″ – 5’7″ => 8 Foot
• 5’8″ – 6′ => 9 Foot
• Over 6′ => 10 Foot
• Chinese Wheel Rope => 10 Foot

If you aren’t quite sure what you want, order slightly bigger as you can always shorten the rope in a matter of minutes (they are quite difficult to lengthen without some physics bending ability).

The second thing you need to decide is what colors and design you want. We have beads available in black, white, red, green, blue, yellow and orange. These colors can be put together in any conceivable pattern. **Note: white beads tend to stand out the best, so if you’re going for visibility, you should have some white beads mixed into your design.

Choose the bead colors you want and we’ll put them together into a random design, you can always take the rope apart and redesign if you would prefer something else. If you have something specific you’re looking for, i.e. mostly red with some white, or the red white and blue rope, etc. let us know that in the comments section of your order.
