Today I performed in a city that holds a special place in the hearts of many, yet I didn’t even know it existed. I performed in Chester, IL which is the home of Popeye. Traveling as much as I do certainly brings you to a lot of cities and it’s amazing how many surprises come up when you travel. I honestly had no idea that Popeye had a hometown, much less one that really pulled out all the stops to let the world know. There were statues throughout town of Popeye, Olive Oyl (with Swee’ Pea and Eugene), along with Swee’ Peas restaurant (where we ate lunch). All in all, it was a great surprise and I really enjoyed getting to know about another small part of history that’s out there. If you haven’t been there, I recommend stopping by and checking it out.
I’ve also included a couple pictures from a recent show that had about 450 3-5th grade students. It was a lot of fun and I love getting to perform when there’s plenty of room to work with.
