Yesterday I performed my first jump rope school assembly program for the 2016-2017 school year. I’ve had a busy summer traveling and performing, but there’s something special about the first school assembly of a new year. I got a call a couple weeks ago from a Native American boarding school in western Oklahoma. They have around 600 students from all over the country ranging in grades from 4-12. It was a packed house and I was excited to be able to start the year performing my odd mix of jump rope, unicycle, audience participation and glow ropes at this awesome school. Most of my showsRead More →

I am finally back in the states after a whirlwind trip to Suhag and Cairo Egypt. Alicia and I had a great time visiting some friends we made last time as well as meeting many new people (and of course putting on many jump rope shows and workshops). We started off on a bit of a sour note when our Delta flight had a broken radar and we were stuck sitting in the airport for many hours waiting on another plane to get us to Atlanta. When we finally landed at 2am in Atlanta, we had obviously missed our connection and were put on aRead More →

Jump rope shows everywhere! I have been so busy this year traveling around the country performing for Jump Rope for Heart events, school assemblies, Upward award nights and more! In fact, I have only set foot at home something like 4 days this year. I’m actually heading out the door again for another trip to Cairo, Egypt so I will have to make a more elaborate update at another time. I’m excited to spend another 10 days in the ancient world before bouncing back to the states. Anyway, I apologize for not updating things much lately, but when I have tons of shows, I don’tRead More →

I spent last week filming an updated version of my Single Rope Skills jump rope video! I have been wanting to do this for quite some time and I am so excited that it is finally filmed! I’ve put up more information about the project over at Jump Rope Secrets. I will be making the videos available over there as soon as they are edited. There will be no DVD of this project and it will only be available over at my streaming video website. I love this new way of doing things since I can put the videos up as they are completed insteadRead More →

Yesterday I finally broke my 11th Guinness World Records Title! This one was for the most skips in one hour and I have to say, this one was tough. I attempted this record a couple weeks ago and missed it by 250 jumps so I had to give it another go. I contacted a team in the Dallas area (big thanks to HFS Jump Force for counting and witnessing) and they came out to be the official judges for the event. Everything was set and yet…not my best record setting experience. The week before I went to set the record, my back went out onRead More →

Right now the World Jump Rope Championships are taking place in England. Over the last couple of days I’ve been watching on and off the live feed that they have online (isn’t the internet amazing) and I have to say, I see the same issue happening this tournament that has been going on as long as I can remember. Everyone is missing. I guess it would be a bit presumptuous to say everyone, considering that I haven’t been glued to the feed, but whenever I’m watching, there’s a ton of mistakes. A couple of the routines started out with a 5-10 second error, not good.Read More →

Not too long ago I was performing at an elementary school (actually I do this all the time, but…you get the picture). After I finished up and was packing away my stuff, one kid ran up to me and said, “I wish you were my dad!” I was quite flattered and said, “I’m sure your dad is pretty cool already” when he looked at me and said something I don’t think I will ever forget…”No he’s not, he calls me an ‘a’”. At that, he turned and ran off, for which I was quite glad since I really didn’t know what to say. After thinkingRead More →
